About the Firm
Founded in 2000, The Law Office of Larry Zerner specializes in Copyrights & Copyright Law, Trademarks & Trademark Law, Entertainment Law and Copyright, Trademark & Entertainment Law Litigation.
Protecting what is rightfully yours. Los Angeles-based entertainment attorney Larry Zerner is committed to safeguarding your most valuable assets: the words, images, ideas that you have created. He passionately represents entertainment industry clients and others looking for results in the fairest, fastest way possible.
Beyond that, on a very real and human level, Larry is known to be comforting, non-intimidating, easy to work with and, despite his profession and his industry accomplishments, one of the most plain-speaking entertainment attorneys you will ever find (in other words, he speaks with his clients in real English...not in legalese!).
Clients seeking entertainment law expertise call on Larry to represent them on all types of entertainment law issues, including:
-
Copyright Infringement: Don't take
the chance of seeing someone else benefit from your work and creativity! If you write a book or a script, for example,
and someone else uses it without your permission, this is a classic case of copyright infringement. Larry is also
strongly experienced in cases of unauthorized video duplication (sometimes referred to as "bootlegging videos" or
"bootlegged" videos).
Whether you have a claim against someone else (such as a movie studio or book publishing company), or someone has a claim against you, Larry will throw himself into your case with the sole intention to resolve it in your best interest as efficiently as possible. Larry's commitment to making sure his clients get the best resolution possible is something that almost every client he has ever worked with has mentioned and remembered, even years later. Unlike some of the larger "factory" kind of law firms and lawyers, Zerner Law will treat you and your case as the individual and very significant case that it is.

Entertainment-related Contracts:
Don't make the mistake of "sealing the deal" with just a handshake! Whatever your role or potential deal in and around
the media or entertainment industry, you need to have a contract that meets your needs and protects what needs to be
protected...it's like an insurance policy for your rights!
Writing a script? Starring in a movie? No matter what dotted line needs to be signed, you'll want Larry on your side. Larry will review your contract (if you have been given one by another party) or will draft one for you (if you need to give one to another party), covering a range of entertainment industry and law issues, including:
- Screenplay option agreements
- Screenplay purchase agreements
- Actor agreements for movies
- Actor agreements with agents or managers
- Collaboration agreement for more than one writer
- Producer agreements Learn more about the firm's entertainment law practice area.

success – are you doing everything you can do to protect your ideas, your products and your livelihood?
Larry has handled hundreds of trademark registrations and trademark contracts for all types of goods and services, from widgets to whatnots. He is committed to seeing your trademark issue through from start to finish. For the most part, these trademark registrations and trademark contracts are handled for a low flat fee.

A word about legal fees: Yes, lawyers can be expensive. In addition to his broad knowledge of entertainment industry law and entertainment contracts, Larry knows that businesses as well as individuals are concerned about legal fees getting out of control.
That's why with all of his clients and cases, Larry is committed to working out a financial arrangement that makes sense for all parties. If you have a simple matter and just want a lawyer's opinion, you can arrange a phone or in-person consultation at a rate of $300 per hour. For more complicated matters, Larry can work hourly, on a percentage basis or on a contingency fee basis, depending on the nature of your case. Larry works with all clients to tailor a suitable financial plan and the firm accepts all major credit cards, giving you further payment options.
